ELDP - Entry Level Driver Program

Way Routes Inc is pleased to present the Entry Level Driver Program (ELDP) offered by FedEx Ground.  

We are hiring student drivers out of select FedEx approved schools, no driving experience needed! Student must be able to pass the FedEx Background check and company road test.  

The program requires a minimum of 96 hours of observed driving time and 300 hours total driving time. 

ELDP drivers are always driving with an approved Lead Driver. 

At Way Routes this is how we implement the program: 

• Paid Local Orientation: ELDP driver will drive for 2 days on local routes (night shift) where he or she will be observed 100% of the time. This can be extended if necessary. 
• OTR Training: ELDP driver will run Over the Road (OTR) as a team driver where he or she will be observed for a few hours every day for the remaining of the period. During this time, he or she will be away from home from 1 to 4 weeks at a time, and home for 2 days for each week out. 

Our goal is to complete the program in 28 weeks.

We offer one of the best pay packages in the industry! 

While in Paid Local Orientation ELDP driver makes $100/day. 

During OTR Training ELDP driver starts at 30 cents per mile (CPM). Team miles are split evenly between drivers. 

Pay scale for OTR Training: 

Phase one: (8 weeks)        40 cpm (Team miles are split evenly between drivers)

Phase two: (8 weeks)      45 cpm (Team miles are split evenly between drivers)

Phase three: (12 weeks)      50 cpm (Team miles are split evenly between drivers) 

Once ELDP program is complete Driver is eligible to become one of our drivers. 

All of our OTR trucks are late model 2021 or newer.

Healthcare benefits available after 60 days.

401 K program available (company match).

Drivers earn 5 paid days off every 6 months. OTR drivers get $240 a day PTO. Paid time off does not roll over and must be used within 6 months of accrual.   

Example Pay For ELDP Driver (Weekly): 

• Pay @ 40 cpm: Team Miles = 4,500/2,250 miles per driver X 0.40 = $900 pay
• Pay @ 40 cpm: Team Miles = 6,000/3,000 miles per driver X 0.40 = $1,200 pay 
• Pay @ 50 cpm: Team Miles = 4,500/2,250 miles per driver X 0.50 = $1,125 pay
• Pay @ 50 cpm: Team Miles = 6,000/3,000 miles per driver X 0.50 = $1,500 pay
